Science and Technology

Here is a difference between science and technology.Science is a method to answer theoretical questions, the technology is a method of solving practical problems. Science has to do with the discovery of facts and relationships between observable phenomena in nature and develop theories that are used to organize these facts and relationships, it has to do with tools, techniques and procedures for implementing the conclusions of science.

Another distinction between science and technology has to do with the progress of each. Scientific progress excludes the human factor. Scientists seeking to understand the universe and know the truth with the highest degree of precision and certainty, can not pay attention to their own or other people’s likes and dislikes, or ideas about the fitness of things. What scientists discover may shock or anger people – like evolutionary theory of Darwin. But even an unpleasant truth is more likely to be useful, moreover, we can refuse to believe it!
But only if the technology and we have no opportunity to refuse to hear the detonation produced by a supersonic aircraft flying overhead and we have no opportunity to refuse to breathe polluted air. Unlike science, advances in technology should be our slave and not vice versa. The legitimate purpose of technology is to serve peope – people in general, not just certain people and future generations, not only those who now wish to gain advantage for themselves.

We are all familiar with the abuses of technology. Many people blame the technology for widespread pollution, depletion of resources and even disintegration of society in general – so that the promise of technology is obscured. This promise is a cleaner and healthier. If applications wise science and technology do not lead to a better world, what else will?
